Ubisoft recently unveiled its plans for a fourth Splinter Cell game titled, Splinter Cell 4: Double Agent. Sam Fisher returns to really beat a dead horse, as he sneaks around, fights terrorism, and ultimately saves the world. However, the game's developers have put a new twist on the series with Double Agent, and are making it out to be a very dark and gloomy looking game.
Sam Fisher's daughter has died in a car accident in the time that has elapsed since Chaos Theory. After going through a period of severe depression and psychological trauma, Sam is back on the scene.
Ubisoft is sticking to the award winning gameplay and graphics of the third game, hoping to simply add new gameplay elements and story aspects. Hopefully, the dark change in mood will allow gamers to see a new side of Sam Fisher and the Tom Clancy series. Ubisoft has chosen to keep this publicity to a minimum, and have only divuldged some small hints through their hype website. The site displays mugshots of Sam Fisher with a shaved head, and makes multiple statements that seem to indicate that Sam Fisher has taken a turn for the worst. However, it was recently released, that Sam Fisher intentionally gets himself arrested, thrown in jail, and escapes to gain the trust of a terrorist group he is inflitrating.
